Another favorite of the early postcard photographers were the numerous hot springs and vacation resorts of the rugged north country mountains. In this image is Matilija, it was reputed that there were thirty different mineral springs, each capable of curing some human ailment. The springs were extremely popular in the early half of the twentieth century. |
