Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to measure the effectiveness of an Environment-Based-Education Curriculum in the areas of self-esteem, behavior, and academics with elementary students with learning disabilities. The program included taking sixteen Nature Trips throughout the community all revolving around the theme of sustainability. There were eight participants ranging from second to fifth grade. Lessons were multi-sensory and students collected data in their Nature Journals. Students made significant gains in their self-esteem, ability to focus, and in their academics.
